Ho Chi Minh City promotes research and development of artificial intelligence
11/01/2024The People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has just issued a plan to promote research and development of artificial intelligence from the research environment to experimentation, pilot application to widespread application in society throughout the city area by 2025, with a vision to 2030.
Ho Chi Minh City has set a goal to establish an AI ecosystem in the city, with the aim of promoting a 20% annual increase in the number of scientific works, patent monopolies/IPRs, or copyrights related to AI or AI applications. The city also aims to annually increase the number of startup enterprises and digital businesses developing and applying AI by 10%, and to increase investment in the AI sector by 10% annually. Furthermore, the city aims to annually increase the number of quality AI human resources to serve the research, implementation, and application of AI in order to benefit the city’s economic and social life. By 2030, the city aims to ensure that 100% of departments, agencies, districts, and Thu Duc City apply AI in state management work.
To achieve these goals, Ho Chi Minh City plans to deploy AI solutions in logistics, healthcare, education and training, transportation, security, high-tech agriculture, culture, sports and tourism, and administration. The city will support businesses in applying AI to production and business by connecting the supply and demand of AI applications between universities, research institutes, scientific and technological organizations, and the business community.
In addition, the city will provide online training and knowledge advancement about AI for the social community, from basic to advanced levels, that are suitable for each subject and social class. The AI knowledge training program will be integrated into the online platform.
Alongside this, the construction, operation, and development of an AI data-sharing platform such as building a group of databases to collect, encode, tabulate, and share data to serve in scientific research activities, technology development, and AI application; establishing a platform, mechanisms, and processes for data sharing, including data access and contribution; operating the platform, monitoring, evaluating the deployment results, and making improvements.
In addition, promote the development of the AI ecosystem by establishing a sustainable AI ecosystem with the participation of experts, scientists, schools, research institutes, startup enterprises, small and medium-sized enterprises, and investors in the AI field through various forms such as operating online platforms to promote innovative activities; operating the Creative Startup Center of the City…
