INDUSTRY NEWS HIGHLIGHTS

1. Automation Dramatically Boosts Global GDP

Automating different tasks in manufacturing can raise productivity growth to 1.4% annually (McKinsey&Company, 2017).

The use of automation in three key industries including manufacturing will contribute $15.7 trillion to the global economy by 2030 (PWC, 2019)

Boosting robot installations to 30% above the baseline would lead to an estimated 5.3% boost in global GDP by 2030. This equates to adding an extra $4.9 trillion per year to the global economy (Oxford Economics, 2019).

2. Robot Makes Workforce’s Productivity Soar

By 2022, 42% of the time spent on manufacturing tasks will be automated using robots (World Economics Forum, 2019). As a result, 20 million manufacturing jobs will be lost to automation by 2030 (Oxford Economics, 2019).

7 out of 10 workers believe adopting automation in their organization will create better opportunities for them in higher-skilled jobs (McKinsey&Company, 2017). The main reason 57% of employers want to automate is to improve the productivity of their workforce. (Big Innovation Center, 2018).

3. Digital Management & Automation Is The Next Generation Of Sustainability

According to Schneider Electric, digital energy management and universal automation solutions can achieve the next generation of efficiency, resilience, and sustainability for the F&B industry. For example, EcoStruxure Automation Expert (an industrial automation system) can save 68% of new program design hours, increasing the technical and operational efficiency of the project by 25%, which is 3-4 times compared to some existing systems and Reducing energy costs by 20-30% (Schneider Electric, 2022).

4. AI Technology Is Undeniably Beneficial

Google Trends statistics show that currently, Chat GPT and OpenAI are two of the most searched keywords in Vietnam, which is the fever that makes technology forums crazy around the globe lately (Google Trends data, 2023).

Artificial intelligence (AI) has a particularly strong impact on the manufacturing and automotive industries. Predictions show that AI in the auto industry will experience a compound annual growth rate of nearly 40%, reaching $15.9 billion by 2027. (VNEconomy, 2023).
