Amazon Global Selling sets Vietnam as an important market in 2022

Amazon plans to carry out many accompanying activities to support Vietnamese sales partners to approach the model and grow exports through cross-border e-commerce. 

Opportunities for “Made-in-Vietnam” products

Regardless of the pandemic’s impact, Vietnam’s economy in certain fields still recorded many optimistic signals, being one of the few countries with positive growth in the past two years. Experiencing widespread social distancing in the third quarter, GDP in the fourth quarter of 2021 is still on the growth track. Experts predict that this quarter will drag the average GDP of the whole year to the threshold of 3%. 

In which, e-commerce has a growth rate of 18% (November 2021, according to the Department of E-commerce & Digital Economy) also contributing to the growth of GDP at the end of the year. In addition to putting their products on the domestic e-commerce platform, many businesses also export their products through cross-border e-commerce platforms like Amazon, recording impressive results.

According to Report Cross-border e-commerce 2021 For Vietnamese small and medium enterprises (SMEs), in 12 months (from September 1, 2020 to August 31, 2021), nearly 7.2 million products of Vietnamese SMEs were sold to Amazon customers around the world, up 34% over the same period last year. The number of Vietnamese SMEs selling through Amazon stores worldwide surpassed the sales milestones of $100,000, $500,000 and $1 million, increasing by more than 18%, 53% and 40%, respectively, after just one year. 

Besides, the top 5 best-selling Vietnamese products on this platform are all in the group of household appliances, kitchen tools, textile products, home gadgets, health and personal care products. The impressive figures above partly represent the acceptance of global customers with Vietnamese production capacity, opening up opportunities for Vietnamese businesses to reach international levels. 

Amazon Global Selling is committed to accompanying Vietnamese businesses

In the third year of presence in Vietnam, a representative of Amazon Global Selling said that this market has many advantages and potential for cross-border e-commerce development. Amazon is ready to be a launching pad for domestic businesses to exploit this opportunity. Not letting businesses “self-advocate”, the unit also provides tools and services to support businesses to build brands on online platforms, connect customers, create a “Made-in-Vietnam” impression. At the same time, Amazon Global Selling also accompanies businesses to ensure “Made-In-Vietnam” products meet international quality standards, product compliance and build long-term business plans. 

FBA service with 185 centers worldwide

Amazon’s order fulfillment service (FBA) for sales partners will continue to be invested and promoted, helping businesses achieve their goal of global expansion through cross-border e-commerce. With FBA, Vietnamese businesses can ease the burden in the operation process because Amazon will take charge of the entire business of picking up goods, packing, shipping products, taking care of customers, exchanging goods… 

To ensure Vietnamese SME timely grasp trends, laws and operating methods, Amazon Global Selling continues to launch many instructional tools and training courses on diverse topics such as registration and account management; how to choose industries and markets; tools to support FBA, advertising on Amazon…

According to a representative of the Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy – Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam (IDEA), Vietnam is one of the leading countries in terms of digital economic growth in Southeast Asia. In the future, the digital economy will create many opportunities for businesses to access the global market. 

“Over the past time, many Vietnamese businesses have seized this opportunity and thrived in the international market through cross-border e-commerce. In the near future, IDEA will continue to strengthen cooperation with Amazon Global Selling, supporting Vietnamese brands to capture and promote this potential”, the representative added. 

The above activities are considered by Amazon Global Selling as a stepping stone for the development of cross-border e-commerce of Vietnamese businesses, laying the foundation for bringing “Made-in-Vietnam” products to the international market.
